10/7/10 – Keystone Associates Senior Environmental Scientist Receives CPSWQ Certification

Keystone Associates, LLC, an architectural, engineering and surveying firm, is pleased to announce that Timothy M. O’Connor, CPESC, LEED AP, has earned certification as a Certified Professional in Storm Water Quality (CPSWQ).

A CPSWQ must demonstrate through education, experience and examination the knowledge of effective and economical methods of addressing storm water quality. The CPSWQ program is designed for individuals actively involved in the following storm water management activities: development and review of NPDES permit applications; design and review of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans; installation and inspection of storm water management practices and related activities such as assisting regulators, authoring handbooks, and educating the public.

Mr. O’Connor, a Senior Environmental Scientist, is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), and a LEED Accredited Professional. He has more than 11 years of experience in groundwater and soil sampling ranging from commercial office buildings to industrial plating facilities. In addition, Mr. O’Connor helps lead the firm’s Storm Water Department which provides Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and required inspection services to many of our area construction projects.

As a CPSWQ Professional, Mr. O’Connor can assist clients by navigating the permitting process, designing erosion and sediment control and storm water management plans that comply with regulations, and helping ensure that these plans are effectively implemented. This is especially important today as Federal environmental regulations such as the EPA’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II regulations require erosion and sediment control measures for all construction projects disturbing one acre or more.

Keystone is committed to providing our clients with services that set the highest standards in our industry and we congratulate Mr. O’Connor on his accomplishment.
