KMT provided building pad fill observation, testing and certification for a 57,600 SF Price Chopper supermarket in the Town of Chenango, Binghamton, New York. Geotechnical investigations/studies indicated that the subgrade material on site was unsuitable for construction. To avoid costly site excavation/fill operations a system of Dynamic Compaction was employed to compact the subgrade. Upon completion of the dynamic compaction operation, building pad fill was tested in the laboratory to determine the modified proctor, after which on-site compaction was completed and recorded. Once the building pad was constructed KMT was then responsible to certify the pad construction was completed in accordance with project specifications.
