Endicott Soil Vapor Project

Location
Endicott, New York

Description
A major corporation used certain VOC’s as solvents, which entered the groundwater from leaks and spills at its former Endicott, New York facility. As part of a NYSDEC required remediation plan, soil vapors were identified as moving through the soil into the basements of buildings near the former industrial facility. Working with O’Brien and Gere Engineers, a remediation plan was developed for the 300 acre site and ventilation systems were offered to 425 properties. KES provided design services and active soil depressurization system installation on 352 residential, commercial, industrial, and public facilities at this site.
