8/1/11 – Keystone Associates’ Senior Environmental Scientist Participates in Junior Achievement Program

Senior Environmental Scientist, Timothy M. O’Connor, CPESC, CPSWQ, LEED AP, of Keystone Associates, LLC, recently taught “Economics for Success” to sixth grade students at Chenango Bridge Elementary School as part of the Junior Achievement Program.

Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that connects business and education to build a stronger community through programs that focus on work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Business volunteers use their life and business experiences to teach a pre-designed program on the free enterprise system. The volunteer teaches a curriculum that focuses on business, citizenship, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics/character, financial literacy and career development.

During the six-week course Mr. O’Connor related student skills, interests, and values in relation to higher education and career opportunities. Other topics included preparing household budgets as well as an introduction on the importance of insurance.

Keystone is committed to supporting our local community and we are proud of Mr. O’Connor’s involvement and dedication to this worldwide volunteer organization.
