Mr. Timothy M. O’Connor, C.E.P., CPESC, CPSWQ, LEED AP, of Keystone Associates Architects, Engineers and Surveyors, LLC, recently participated in the Chenango Forks School-to-Business STEAM Academy roundtable discussion held at the Chenango Forks Central School District’s Professional Learning Commons. The Academy seeks to create a reciprocal relationship between Chenango Forks High School and local businesses and industries in order to create an enhanced science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics curriculum (STEAM) in order to help support local businesses and industries. Chenango Forks High School, in cooperation with local businesses and industries, plans to provide a trained entry-level work force capable of supporting the productivity of specific businesses and industries in Central New York while at the same time encouraging these students to stay in Central New York. Mr. O’Connor participated in the roundtable discussion regarding the development of a program where Chenango Forks students will have the opportunity to have both classroom and internship opportunities as part of a program in Central New York aimed at supporting growth in local businesses and industries, as well as preparing Chenango Forks students for high-skills jobs in technology, manufacturing, healthcare and media.
